A piece of costuming that I use for some gigs – mostly Leannan Sidhe gigs – threw one of the ring-type beads that are used in tying up the front. It’s just flat gone – no sign of it – so I need a replacement.
I think they’re shell. I’ve been a few places trying to match them with no joy and with the stores not having anywhere to suggest. So… any crafters or beaders out there seen these recently?

Failing that, anybody have a similar? I was thinking maybe niobium – but I’d rather keep what’s there now if I can. (Also, I haven’t seen any that would work.)

They do look like washers-maybe go to the hardware store and get some brass washers? Looks like maybe 3/8th hole, inch or so total diameter? Have you checked Hobby Lobby? I go directly past one tomorrow-I could check for you if you want. You could take ordinary steel washers and try different finishes. Certainly cheap enough to experiment with.
My knowledge of jewelry is extremely limited-what is the exact name of this style of bead? So I would know what to ask for.
a thought…bronze or copper oil-drain-plug washers..
You may have a House Nurnie Infestation..they steal stuff, you know.
They look vaguely like mother of pearl, hard to see from a picture.
I’d suggest trying Firemountain Gems.

Scott: Thank you very much, but please don’t – I won’t patronise Hobby Lobby, directly or indirectly. I really, really appreciate the thought though!
Lisa and Sara: Thank you! I’ll definitely give Fire Mountain a go.
