I’m considering using rafflecopter for a couple of promotional giveaways – not just to give and end-of-the-year boost to Bone Walker, but for the next album, once it’s out.
(Which means once it’s recorded, which means once it’s planned… hey, at least it’s written, right? That counts for something… XD)
Anyway, has anybody used this thing? Is it any good for getting notice? What kind of results have you had, if you’re the one running the raffles?

I’ve used Rafflecopter many times. It’s fairly easy to use. There’s nothing about it, to my knowledge, that will attract users outside of those you promote it to. It’s a good way to require people to follow you on twitter, follow your blog, or like your Facebook page, but I’ve found once the contest is over, many people will unfollow or unlike you. Sad, but true. Just be sure to clarify the rules if you use it. For example, if you don’t want to pay for shipping expenses that are outrageous, limit it to only people in your country.
Angela: Thank you! That exact sort of thing is what I was wondering about. I’m perfectly capable of running my own giveaways (and have done), so what I was hoping is that there was some sort of expanded audience available if you did it. If not, well, I don’t really see the point on my scale of things.
