So, if you’re like me, you still have gifts to buy. And while I hope some of you will buy something from me as gifts, I could use some suggestions. And I imagine some of you could, too!
A lot of you are indie artists or crafters or musicians, or have independent artists, crafters, or musicians you like. RECOMMEND THEM HERE! Or, if you’re the maker, link to your own stuff!
Click through and leave recommendations and suggestions in comments on the main band blog, please, so they’re all in the same place and easier to find. ^_^ Recommend away!
My… OK, I could just call her a cousin, but it’s more interesting to say “my second cousin’s wife” has a new Etsy store, Qrafted by Queannah (http://www.etsy.com/people/QraftedByQueannah), and she does some really fun, whimsical stuff with Legos. She also has textile crafts and beadwork, but it’s the Legos that really caught me. 🙂
(my sentence building skills are clearly suffering, sorry if it’s confusing.)
Talis Kimberley http://www.talis.net Green filky folk with a British accent and Morse code…

Author Jack Lewis has out a book that would be a great gift for a veteran or anyone with a loved one who has served. He’s an awesome writer (and a regular for Motorcyclist magazine) and he went with a small non-traditional press (Litsam.com) to publish this book that has earned great reviews in the Seattle PI and 17 5-star reviews on Amazon (out of 18 total.)

He says about half his sales are directly through his own site, though the book is also available in (Seattle) area bookstores and online through Amazon, Powell’s and other book sellers.
My LJ friend mmegaera has a nice little self-published novel here. It’s called Repeating History, and is a bit of a mashup of time travel romance and a Western!
And a couple of my fellow former Drollerie authors have self-published their work as well. C.G. Bauer has his excellent little horror novel Scars on the Face of God available here, and Rachael Olivier has the holiday romance The Holly and the Ivan as a paperback here.
Ooo- thanks for doing this kind of post!
Anyways, here’s a link to my stuff: http://www.tormentedartifacts.com Tormented Artifacts. I do a wide mix of stuff- from handmade leather pieces, to prints and digital artwork, to a bunch of props, found-art pieces and other items. Really, better to just go check out the site than for me to try and describe everything I do here.
@Dmitri: Oh, I have a League of Extraordinary Bastards membership card made you you guys a century or so ago. I’m currently with the Guild of Calamitous Intent, but I look upon those days with fondness.
And time-lasers. XD
Thanks to Dmitri for linking me here, and thanks to you for asking! 🙂 I make leather masks and fantasy sculptures: http://eirewolf.artfire.com There’s lots of other cool stuff (handmade and vintage) on Artfire too.
I’ve got the really awesome fan-funding project going on to get my new album printed and released… We’re halfway there with right around 20 days left. I have rough cuts for 3/4 of the tracks and they already sound great. I’m really really excited to get this out and for sale!!! You get really really cool perks when you pre-order/pledge through the site, too! 😀

Not really local, but Beth Kinderman makes some pretty awesome prog-rock folk music.
