{"id":5114,"date":"2013-11-26T12:26:01","date_gmt":"2013-11-26T20:26:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/crimeandtheforcesofevil.com\/blog\/?p=5114"},"modified":"2013-11-26T12:26:01","modified_gmt":"2013-11-26T20:26:01","slug":"cd-burning-robot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crimeandtheforcesofevil.com\/blog\/2013\/11\/26\/cd-burning-robot\/","title":{"rendered":"cd burning robot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Whelp, the CD burning robot seems to have packed it in pretty good this time &#8211; doesn&#8217;t respond to commands, <em>does<\/em> randomly flail tiny arms around&#8230;  I&#8217;ve managed to revive it before, but it&#8217;s never been this random.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m thinking of getting a multi-disc stacked CD duplicating controller and some CD burners &#8211; I was looking at <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Bestduplicator-Premium-Series-Duplicator-Lightscribe\/dp\/B008T5B26Y\/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t\">this controller<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Linkworld-Electronic-LLC-5020-01-C2222\/dp\/B007IGHZDO\/ref=pd_bxgy_pc_img_y\">this case<\/a> (which appears to be fine as long as you don&#8217;t get a dodgy power supply with it) and a bunch of burners.<\/p>\n<p>The problem is that SATA burners are all multi-layer and Blu-Ray (and thus expensive), while PATA\/IDE burners are exactly right and cheap, but PATA controllers are hard to find, <em>particularly<\/em> given that Amazon has started blowing off search terms like SATA and LIGHTSCRIBE, because apparently they just hate <em>everyone<\/em> now.<\/p>\n<p>Or I could buy <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ebay.com\/itm\/1-5-1-5-Target-DVD-CD-Duplicator-LightScribe-Label-Printing-Disc-Publishing-\/321222937385?pt=US_CD_DVD_Blu_Ray_Duplicators&#038;hash=item4aca610b29\">this off of eBay<\/a>, assuming it actually is five burners and Lightscribe &#8211; since the description does not match the title which may not match the photo (the photo looks like Sony Optiarc burners which lack the Lightscribe logo), I&#8217;m not sure!<\/p>\n<p>Adventures.
